Pratt Dies While Fishing By Bosque River
C E Pratt a 75 year old Clifton resident died of a heart attack while fishing at the Bosque River near Clifton on October 21. He had worked 42 years as a Santa Fe Railway section foreman and lived in several towns during his career. He was born May 4 1889 in Missouri and had battled heart problems for eight years.

Funeral services were held at Clifton Funeral Home Chapel for Oscar Surley aged 73 years 2 months 13 days of 605 West 8th Street Dallas. Surley died Monday night October 26 after surgery in a Dallas hospital. Born August 13 1891 in the Norse community he moved with family to a Crawford area farm around age eight. He was baptized at Our Savior's Lutheran Norse and confirmed at Crawford Lutheran. He attended Turkey Creek School one year and the rest of his schooling at Crawford.
