Mrs. Moody L. Fredenburg Sr of this city underwent surgery in the local hospital on October 26 and is hoped to make a full recovery. Friends learn Mrs. Raymond Smith of Coyote fell on October 26 and broke her leg and has been a patient at Clifton hospital since.
Robert Baldridge Jr attended the Texas S M U football game in Austin last Saturday afternoon and stayed for the banquet at the Austin Country Club that honored Dean Arno Nowotny. Nowotny is retiring after 47 years as Dean of Men and Dean of Student Life at the University of Texas.
Bosque County Farm Bureau members named six directors plus a director at large and an Associated Women director at a Norse meeting held October 20 at Our Savior's Lutheran Parish Hall. Loyd Swenson hosted, H J Reichert presided, and about 80 attendees enjoyed a covered dish supper.
The Post Office Department releases a mailing timetable for Christmas parcels and cards. Key windows include November 1 10 for overseas parcels and cards, November 29 December 5 for distant state gifts, December 1 12 for air parcels to armed forces, and December 14 for nearby area items. Zip numbers should be added to boost delivery efficiency. Clifton area zip 76634. Early mailing has helped deliver most mail by Christmas Day.
Miss Opal Eggen of Tyler visited relatives, including Mr. and Mrs. T. J. White and their sons, Dick, Tommie, Craig, and Claude, from Friday night to Sunday. She also spent time with Mrs. M. R. White and Kathryne, and with Mr. and Mrs. John Bell and children Jerry and Wanda in Beaumont. L. T. Allison of Laguna Park suffered a heart attack and was taken to Clifton hospital by ambulance on Wednesday morning.
Mr and Mrs Joseph Solberg spent Oct 31 to Nov 1 in Bastrop with Reverend Kenneth Solberg his wife and son Michael. Kenneth Solberg was installed as pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and serves a McDade congregation. Also present were his parents A E Willmann Seguin and his brother in law and sister Jerry McCoy Abilene.
Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Lane and Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Kincheloe were in Austin last Saturday to attend the Texas S M U football game and returned home that night.
Fairview Baptist Church invites all visitors to attend. Mr and Mrs Tye White and son Jerry visited in Clifton last Sunday in the home of Mrs H A White. Reverend and Mrs Buddy Young and children were guests at the Blassingame home. The community mourns the death of former resident Mrs Jess Freedman, burial in China Spring.
