Clifton High School observes homecoming Friday and Saturday October 19 and 20 with a turkey dinner at Schmidt's Downtown Restaurant 327 West 5th Street, Clifton. CHS faces West High at Cub Stadium and crowns the Homecoming Queen at halftime. A Scribble party follows the game and a dance runs Saturday night from 8 pm to midnight at the old high school gym with tickets at the door.

Cranfills Gap Lions defeated the Blum Bobcats 37 to 21 to notch their first district victory. Steve Ottmers started the scoring with a 1 yard run, Bruce Knudson added two extra points, and Knudson later ran 15 yards for another score.
