Free statewide special needs classes run in Clifton Texas
Texas offers the sixth public program for ages three to 21 with special educational needs. In Bosque County classes start Monday November 5 at Trinity Lutheran Church Clifton, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday with Lydia Hunter Rystad as teacher and James T. Browder as substitute.

Selmer Erickson Post No. 322 Clifton and its Auxiliary host the American Legion and Auxiliary 14th District convention at City Park. Registration 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday. auxiliary workshop at 3 p.m.. dance at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Sunday starts with 8:40 a.m. registration at the National Guard Armory, then joint session and address by Judge Frank G. McDonald.

Clifton Future Homemakers of America members joined an 11 mile walk from Meridian to Clifton to raise funds for charity and their local chapter. Ten FCA participants collected over 200 dollars in pledges with support from Mrs Dick Golden and Mrs Robert Morris. The group started at Casa del Bosque at 7 30 a.m. and finished at the Clifton Veterinary Clinic by 10 45 a.m. Despite late-night rest after a Clifton High football game, the walkers remained energetic and returned in good spirits.

Central Texas Polled Hereford Show and Sale Set
Clifton's annual Central Texas Polled Hereford Show and Sale are scheduled for Thursday at the fairgrounds. Nearly 100 entries have been received, with judging at noon Friday for about 30 exhibitors. Odell Gelvin of Fairland Oklahoma will judge, as part of selections for the National Polled Hereford Show. The 22nd annual sale opens at 1 p.m. Saturday, expected to be the largest Polled Hereford consignment sale in the state this fall.

Two Fires At Lancaster Farm Scar Second Blaze On Weekend
Clifton Volunteer Fire Department fought two fires at a Lancaster hog farm on Saturday. Firefighters ended the afternoon by extinguishing a grass fire and then were called that evening to extinguish a pickup truck fire per Fire Chief George Harris.

Clifton's annual PTO event returns with a Halloween Carnival and spaghetti supper on Saturday October 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals served 4:30 to 6:30 in Elementary Cafeteria.
