Ted Evans of Clifton and Charley Miles and Marshal Mitchell led a deer hunting party returning Sunday night from a lease near Madison. The group visited relatives in Clifton and sightseeing included four wild turkeys and a buck. The trip coincided with the golden wedding anniversary of W F Prescher and deaths in nearby Waurika Oklahoma.
Ten Bosque County residents attended the 1964 District Eight Gold Star Awards Banquet at Tarleton State College Stephenville Texas. Honorees Bettye Viertel and John Kruse were joined by local leaders and families in recognizing outstanding 4-H achievement and leadership with Dr EF Howell delivering the history of 4H to the more than 200 attendees.
John Kruse of Clifton 4 H Club earns Gold Star Boy honor for Bosque County with district and state contest medals and active leadership roles. Bettye Viertel of Cranfills Gap 4 H Club named Gold Star Girl with numerous ribbons, awards, and high school leadership posts.
The Clifton Record reports a banquet celebrating 4 H leadership and personal development with Gold Star Award winners receiving certificates and gifts. The event was sponsored by Electric Cooperatives from Comanche Erath Hamilton Johnson and McLennan Counties as well as Bel Falls in Rosebud and Brazos in Waco. Also listed are for sale staplers and staple removers from Staples Swingline Bostitch and Ace.
Mr and Mrs Joe F Kral Jr visited Dallas last Friday and Saturday to attend the Clifton Floral Company holiday market. While in the city they were overnight guests of Mr and Mrs Frank Kadlubar.
