John D. Kellum aged 69 of Valley Mills died November 14 at Clifton hospital after ambulance transport. A Humble Oil veteran of 35 years retired in 1954 and a First Baptist Church member. Clifton High School band, after a streak of first division ratings, received a third division at the Region II UIL marching contest in Waco. Director Glen Judah cited four fair mistakes, noting the event was tougher this year as organizers reduced first division shares. Twirlers Janet Heller, Vicki Outlaw, and Bonnie June Standefer earned first division ratings.

Clifton High Harvest Carnival Draws Crowd and $765
Clifton High School PTA reports the 1964 Harvest Carnival on November 10 grossed about $765. A large crowd enjoyed food, games, and a 6 to 8 pm lineup in the cafeteria and rooms, followed by an 8 pm auditorium program Come to the Fair. The show featured music, stage acts, and a Queen of the Fair crowned from a singing contest.
