Santa Claus parachutes into Clifton to kick off Christmas
Bosque County children are invited to see Santa parachute from an airplane at 2 00 P M Friday on the golf course area near Clifton. Santa and a helper will jump, then ride a float through downtown Clifton where he will hear Christmas wishes and give candy sticks. Local officers will manage crowds as 47 local firms mail an eight page circular promoting the season.

Mrs. Ruby Morrow Died Following Illness in Clifton
Mrs Ruby Morrow aged 51 years 10 months 25 days of Route 1 Clifton died Friday night November 20 at the local hospital after a illness of less than two months. She was born December 25 1912 at Loving and married Dewey Morrow May 19 1931 at Frederick Oklahoma. They lived in Jacksboro and Denton before moving to Clifton. She leaves three children Dewey Leon, Dorothy Wells and Jolene Surginer and her parents Arch Peters and Ava May Peters.

Thompson Turkey Goes to White House
President Lyndon B. Johnson accepted a 40 pound live tom turkey on Tuesday from Ray Thompson of Ellsworth Iowa, part of a family and firm that have raised about 30 000 turkeys for Thanksgiving. Johnson quipped about not eating crow and wished every American family a bountiful Thanksgiving as the bird was presented.

Martin Ringness Dies at 75 After Heart Attack
Martin Ringness of Route 2 Clifton died Monday November 23 from a heart attack. He was 75 years old and died at the local hospital after being transported by ambulance. Funeral services were held November 25 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Norse with burial in Our Savior's Cemetery. A full obituary is planned for next week.

Clifton Boy Scout Drive Receives $592 So Far
Clifton's fund drive for Heart O' Texas Boy Scout Council began November 17 with a City Hall breakfast and has collected $592.00 by Monday afternoon. Leo L. Albrecht said the total trails the $690.00 raised in 1963, though he noted the figure may be incomplete. The drive continues for another week.

Ernest Spitzer Dies in Galveston After Illness
Bosque County mourns Ernest Spitzer 76 with six months of declining health and a two week hospitalization. The Brenham native lived in Clifton before moving to Bosque County and retiring near the Bosque River dam. He leaves ten children and was married to Alma Stark in 1911. He died November 21 at John Sealy Hospital Galveston after strokes following neck surgery.
