Lola Barton invites readers to Lanes Chapel for a full day of fellowship on June 2 starting at 10 am. The program includes greetings, a devotional, business meeting, potluck lunch, and singing with guests from various places. Everyone is urged to attend and help elect officers for the coming year.
Richard Gene Spitzer of Clifton is named among nine Texas A&M College of Science Faculty Achievement Award recipients. He holds a 25 GPA on a 3.0 scale, is a Distinguished Student, and has been accepted by the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He earned the Julia Ball Lee Scholarship, served on student councils, and was in the Pre Medical and Pre Dental societies.
Members of Trinity Lutheran Church Women and guests enjoyed a Mother Daughter Salad Supper on Monday May 13 in the church fellowship hall. Co chairs T J Wiggins and Jerry Smith supervised a program titled Daisies Fell with a hymn name game and a devotional on child training in a Christian atmosphere led by Mrs Walter Hansen.
Jerry W. Golden and William H. McLennan seniors from Clifton are among 135 candidates for Tarleton State College graduation. Spring commencement is at 2 p.m. May 26 in the Main Auditorium. McLennan and Golden, both government majors and Clifton High School 1964 graduates, will be commissioned second lieutenants in the U.S. Army after graduation.
