Last Saturday church social at Fairview drew many locals. Herman Halbert moved the church yard. Reverend Buddy Young and family stayed with Mr and Mrs Downey. G W Eichelberger and son Hue from Irving visited the Siepert home.

Mrs Wayne Blassingame and children Judy and Roger visited the T A Blassingame home on Saturday. Douglas Finstad and son Barry were Sunday guests at the Dick Blassingame home. Sheila Blassingame joined the Clifton Senior Class trip to Houston and Galveston.
Ninety nine attendees joined the Bosque County Unit of the American Cancer Society in Clifton City Hall to hear Dr. Hanes H. Brindley of Temple discuss primary malignant tumors of bone. The program covered classifications origins and age related incidence with emphasis on early diagnosis and treatment.
Congressman Poage explains House passage of the International Development Association Bill and discusses committee chairmanships and seniority after the death of Clarence Cannon. He notes Texas’ growing influence, citing Mahon Teague and other Texans and assures future committee control if re-elected.
Calvert G. Helms of Central Texas Lumber Company reports the motel expansion is close to finished. Edward L. Brown the owner adds eight 12 by 24 unit rooms and a 20 by 40 pool with filter system slide and underwater lighting behind existing units. Half the new rooms will have two double beds and half one double bed with tile baths carpeted floors telephones and televisions.
Morgan High School juniors Leon Hickox and Marion Kirton were named to the all-state basketball team for the Six-Man Coaching School in Ranger on Sunday June 7. Albert Spitzer Jr. earned selection for the football game. Kirton and Spitzer are sons of local residents Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kirton and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Spitzer of Meridian respectively.

Mr and Mrs M D Sparks and daughters Diane Sharon Linda sold their Neils Creek farm southwest of Clifton to Mr and Mrs John Koons of Dallas and bought the James F O Shea home on South Avenue in Clifton. The Sparks plan to vacate the farm by June 1, and the Koons will spend weekends at the farm.
Cadet David A. Knitt of Clifton received the Detachment Staff Award as outstanding drill team member at the 13th Annual Air Force ROTC Awards Day on Southwest Texas State College campus in San Marcos on May 5. Presented by Detachment No. 840, Captain Raymond R. Medford chaired the ceremony. Knitt, a San Marcos High School graduate, was cited for service to the Corps and drill team.
Mr and Mrs Arthur Hyles and Dan Amundson spent last Sunday in Dallas at the fall and winter Western Auto Merchandise Show held in the Woman's Building on the State Fair of Texas grounds.
