Clifton nightwatchman E S Blassingame resigns effective June 1 after serving since March 15. Chief James Bird invites applications for the post at City Hall. sobriety, honesty, and good health required. Blassingame, a longtime Clifton Public Schools bus driver, will become a full time janitor for the schools on June 1, replacing Edwin Sinderud.

Mrs. Canute Canuteson age 79 years 6 months 23 days of Clifton died about 5 30 pm Wednesday May 20 in the local hospital after a cerebral hemorrhage while residing in Memorial Hall at the Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home Funeral services set for 3 00 pm Friday May 22 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev Erwin Knitt officiating. Burial will be in Clifton Cemetery. The Record will publish a full obituary next week.

Reinhold H. Lander known as Ran died suddenly May 14 near Coryell City from a heart attack. He was 69 and resided at 607 South Avenue P Clifton. Funeral services were held May 16 at Clifton Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Clifton Memorial Park. He was a WWI veteran and longtime resident of Coryell City area with no children. Survived by wife Mrs. R. H. Lander, three brothers and one sister.

Larry Langston resigns after his first year at Clifton High School effective at the end of the current school year. He teaches plane geometry general math physics and general science and plans to resume work with the Texas Highway Department in Hillsboro. Mrs. O R Jenson also resigns as music teacher to become a fourth grade teacher. Superintendent Appleby is seeking a replacement for Jenson and a music teacher for 1964 65.
