Lake Whitney Fishing Yields Big Sandies Weekend
Lake Whitney offered ideal conditions for campers picnickers and anglers with sandies caught around the lake at all hours. A foursome took 300 sandies and a pair landed 197 at night using minnows while others landed black bass to seven and a quarter pounds with artificial bait. Crappie fishing improved in clear water and trotlines produced some yellowcats indicating activity. Lake level stood at 522.80 feet, about a foot above normal.
