A collage of church notices, rallies, and services from Texas towns outlines May events. Immanuel Lutherans, First Presbyterian, and Methodist communities report sermons, Mother’s Day observances, youth activities, and special services. Various congregations list schedules, guests, and choir or catechism sessions.
Clifton Baptist Church held Sunday School Training Union and regular services on May 11 with Rev. Gerald Tyussell absent. Rev. E. A. Colvin of Waco preached both morning and evening. Members led the program at night and attendance rose over the previous Sunday as plans called for a larger turnout next week.
Reports from across Texas show people from all walks of life buying defense bonds and savings stamps in large volumes. Issuing agents are sold out and requesting more supplies. Series F and G application slips are exhausted. Organizations such as the Houston Chamber of Commerce and Texas state offices report near universal participation, including Marble Falls High School with full support. The effort is described as a sustained, monthly drive, not a one day event.
