Deferred grazing and pond fertilization guidance for ranchers

Soil conservation guidance emphasizes deferred grazing from May to November to protect new growth on Texas wintergrass and other grasses. Advice covers temporary pastures, small grain grazing, and fertilizer use to boost carrying capacity. Farm ponds should be fertilized to yield up to 400 pounds of fish per acre annually, with species like bass and bluegills, and rotenone for renovation if overpopulated. Local residents from Plano visit Clifton to reconnect with former neighbors.
