Motorist Causes Accident Dies of Heart Attack

Walter Petzold 511 North Ave D collapsed at the wheel of a 1986 pickup in the 500 block of North Ave G at 1 50 p m Thursday. He died at Goodall-Witcher Hospital. His wife Josephine was treated for lacerations. The pickup and hardtop sustained heavy and light damage respectively. A separate minor collision occurred at North Ave G and West 3rd St at 10 05 am June 2 with two sedans sustaining light damage.

Newton and Failips win in county primary returns

In Saturday's Democratic primary for railroad commissioner and judge, Newton and W L Lips won countywide. Newton carried most boxes with 214 votes to Sadler's 183, while Failips topped Morgan and Cayote areas.

Fifteen Families Listed in Texas Land Heritage Program

Agriculture Commissioner Joan C White announced that fifteen families in Bosque County are listed in the Texas Family Land Heritage Program now in its third year of registration since 1974. The program honors long time landowners and presents certificates at the State Fair in Dallas in October.

Medical group honors Dr Witcher in Texas

Clifton physician 5 L Witcher M D was elected to honorary membership by Texas Medical Association peers at the annual House of Delegates in Dallas. Eligibility requires 40 years of membership or notable ethical medicine contributions. He was among 53 Texas physicians granted honorary status out of 12 500 members.

Man Drowns at Old Mill Dam in Clifton

A 28 year old Fort Worth man Simon Castello drowned Saturday afternoon at the Old Mill Dam. His body, recovered around 4 49 p.m. after a two hour search, followed help from Clifton volunteers and local fire and police officials.

Fair seeks bids for 60 by 80 foot exhibit hall at Clifton

Storms delay Fair construction plans by the Central Texas Fair Association. Directors meet June 15 at Clifton City Hall to review bids for a 60x80 galvanized steel exhibit building, with volunteer help sought to reduce costs.
