Clifton May rainfall totals rise to 7.40 inches

J B Darden Jr reports May rainfall in Clifton reached 7.40 inches. For the first five months of the year the area has seen 18.70 inches of rain according to his figures.

Cranfills Gap High School announces Class of 1976 diplomas

Seven seniors graduated from Cranfills Gap High School on Thursday in the school gymnasium. The ceremony featured salutatorian Vicky Jenson, valedictorian Kari Moore, speaker Rev. Clifford Atwood, and awards including a $200 Rotary scholarship to Jenson. Diplomas were presented by Superintendent Paul Boswell and board president Marc Johnson.

Reward grows for Crawfills Gap School burglary case

The Crawfills Gap School burglary reward has risen to 500 dollars after about 2000 dollars of shop equipment were stolen from the vocational agriculture department on the night of May 10. School Board President Marc Johnson invites local businesses to contribute via Superintendent Paul E. Boswell’s office.

Local Woman Fined 135 For Public Drunkenness And Property Destruction

Fines totaling 135 dollars were paid by a local woman on two misdemeanor counts Friday. Corporation Court Judge W. R. Lively imposed 102.50 for being drunk in public and 32.50 for destroying city property by damaging a mattress in a city jail cell.

Free Immunization Clinic Scheduled at Clifton City Hall

A no charge immunization clinic is set for June 3 from 11 10 a m to 12 noon at Clifton City Hall offering vaccines for polio tetanus diphtheria measles whooping cough and rubella. Babies can begin DTP and polio series at two months. measles and rubella for children 12 months and older. The division warns measles can cause serious complications.

Clifton hosts eight attend ambulance service meeting

Eight people attended a Clifton City Hall meeting on the future of ambulance service. Mayor Jim B. Smith outlined six county emergency plans and a possible county run or private option, noting a mid June decision and a $36000 equipment cost with potential 50 percent grant.
