Bullock warns election officials and voters about illegal cross or dual voting during primaries and runoff. He urges strict enforcement to preserve election integrity and clarifies party ballot rules for May June and November elections.
Mrs R O Bass will present her pupils in two piano recitals on June 1 and June 2 at Bettis Auditorium. The first program on June 1 at 7 p.m. will feature Lou Langston and many others. the second on June 2 at 7:30 p.m. will feature Sherry Conrad and additional performers. Public invited.
Bosque County Home Demonstration Council met May 25 in Clifton City Hall with Mrs. Raymond Lammert presiding. Reports were given by Coyote Club and Lazy Daisy Club leaders. The group planned a Central Texas Fair float and set dates for officer training and THDA nominations.
Dr G W Collins is vacationing in Hawaii for about eight or nine days visiting famous resorts and tourist spots. He plans to return to Clifton around June 9 or 10. He left Clifton Saturday May 27 for a short visit with his son Ralph and Ralphs wife in Dallas.
Pvt James A Brading husband of the former Miss Pam A Weschke of Kopperl Route 1 completed basic training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego He is a former Gatesville High School student
James Petrich son of Rev and Mrs Albert Petrich of Clifton graduated with honors from Texas Lutheran College Sequin. He was among 30 honors graduates and 11 magna cum laude in a class of 162, TLC’s largest ever.
Our Savior s Lutheran and Faith Lutheran Church present a daily Vacation Bible School Monday through Friday from 9 00 to 11 15 a m with a June 8 Clifton Circle meeting at 3 00 p m and a June 9 Sunday School Picnic and closing program. The Norse Circle led by Mrs Loyd Swenson meets Thursday evenings and there is a Tuesday Turkey Creek Circle gathering. Services of Worship and Holy Communion are at 10 45 a m on Sundays with Sunday School at 9 30 a m.
Meridian Texas hosts a reunion for teachers graduates and ex-students of the Methodist era school from 1908 to 1927. Activities begin with registration at 9 30 Sunday morning followed by a Memorial Service at 10 30 and introductions from 11 00 to 11 30. A carry in lunch at noon and a 2 00 pm business meeting with talks and a song greet attendees. Officers listed include Rev. Ernest Roper Dr Elmer Cox and Mrs Raymond Ford.
Meridian church notates two service hours at 9 a m and 10 a m. The notice lists Faith Lutheran Church in Meridian Texas with morning worship times.
Dr Gerald E Marsh pastor and professor at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary will preach at the First Baptist Church on Sunday June 4 and June 11. Marsh grew up in Waco and is known for his extensive ministry work including pastoring Air Force chaplaincy and institutional ministries while teaching at the seminary.
The May 23 special interest meeting organized by the Bosque County Home Demonstration Clubs and the Family Living sub committee featured James Denton of Stephenville presenting on estate planning. Denton explained tax minimization and full use of land labor and capital across an estate. The yearlong program included sessions on administration of an estate federal estate and state inheritance taxes and wills led by Demena Dunn.
Mrs. Dorothea Gillaspie has returned from a Hawaii vacation joined by her sister Patsy Wilcher and brother-in-law John C. Wester. The group flew nonstop to Honolulu on a 747 jet and toured Oahu by car visiting a luau at the Sheraton Waikiki, the Polynesian Cultural Center, and the Kodak Show Pearl Harbor. They also visited Hawaii and Kauai, saw volcanoes, Fern Forest, and took a boat trip on the Wailua River to the Fern Grotto.
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Kincheloe and Mrs. John W. Kincheloe spent Saturday night and Sunday morning in Burnet with relatives including Kincheloe's mother. Also in Burnet were Mrs. Robert L. Welsh and Mr. Welsh of Dallas visiting grandmother’s home before returning from a business trip to Austin.
