In Austin Secretary of State Bob Bullock warns June 3 runoff voters to remain in the same party primary as May 6. He notes crossovers violate Texas Election Code and risk fines up to 500 dollars. The notice references past crossovers and urges public awareness to deter such votes.
Culion Lions Club announces installation of officers and a banquet Tuesday June 6 at 7 30 p m in the Sunset home dining room Culion Lutheran Ave. Q Lions President Wayne Gloft reminds members no meeting on June 13 and a tour of Sunset nursing home facilities is offered before the banquet with speaker Louie E Throgmorton from Republic National Insurance Co of Dallas.
Texas Highway Patrol reported 11 rural highway accidents in Bosque County during April 1972. Six people were injured and no fatalities were recorded in the month, according to Sgt. Wilson, local patrol supervisor.
Bosque County prepares for Saturdays Democratic runoff amid high absentee voting and long ballot comparison to the First Primary.
