A fundraiser car wash for Brena Gillaspie is planned for Saturday July 25 at The Hott Spot Salon on Hay from 10 am to 2 pm. Proceeds support Brena’s dance studies in New York City with Expressions Dance Dreams nonprofit. Sponsorships welcome. checks payable to Expressions Dance Dreams with tax ID available. Brena attends Jenni Holley’s Once Studio in Waco and will travel to NYC for Broadway Dance Center classes including Ballet and Hip Hop.

Edwards Secures Funding for Hill College Bosque County
Chet Edwards secured 260000 for Hill College in Bosque County to fund welding and other equipment for vocational training. The Hill College Bosque campus will expand to offer technical field classes and meet regional industrial needs. The funding is included in the 2010 Labor Health and Human Services appropriations bill, passed by committee and awaiting House and Senate action.

Library Book Group Meets On July 27
The civic Library's book club will meet at the library Monday July 27 at 11 am. The July selection is The No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith set in Gaborone Botswana. The story follows Precious Kamotswe solving cases including a missing husband and a missing eleven year old. The book has Booker Judges Special Recommendations and was named an International Book of the Year by the Times Literary Supplement.
