KSA Engineers Warn West 7th Street Sewers Are In Trouble
KSA Engineers of Austin report after inspecting manholes on West 7th Street and nearby streets that brick manholes aged 70 years show deterioration. They warn lines must be enlarged to handle flow to the treatment plant and note missing Texas Commission on Environmental Quality oversight every 900 feet. The study recommends eight inch or larger pipes for a 40 year planning period and proposes new manholes to resolve back-up risks.
