Summer heat and city sign upgrades hit Clifton
Thermometer readings top 100 as residents brace for a scorching summer. Clifton installs street markers at Highway 6 and FM 219 to aid visitors, with more signs to come. Yield signs added at busy intersections aim to cut crashes, including West 9th Street and South Avenue J. Bosque County traffic crashes rise 31 percent in early 1962, with two deaths and 28 injuries and $40 222 in damage. Guardsmen return from Fort Polk after two weeks of training. School officials payoff a 40 year 16 000 bond at 5 percent, noting current issues are shorter with lower rates.
