Local Guard Unit Returns From Camp
Members of Company C 143rd Infantry 2nd Battle Group Clifton returned home last Sunday after a two week summer encampment with the 36th Division at Fort Polk Louisiana. Division Commander Major General Selden Simpson Amarillo called the encampment highly successful and Fourth Army inspectors rated units from excellent to superior. General Simpson noted limited training areas but said daily field training compensated with bivouac in the field and at main post. The 36th Division trained at platoon and squad levels with next summer expanding to company level. Simpson praised the National Guard for serving the community state and nation.

Reunions Honor Six Families Near Clifton Saturday
The fifth Tobias Schulz reunion was held at the Schulz homestead between Clifton and Crawfills Gap on July 7 with barbecued meats and games for children. New officers named for two years were Walter Rachirg president Ernst Viertel vice president and Mrs Will J Krueger Jr secretary treasurer. Also on July 14 four families met at Clifton City Park to plan 1963 events and elect officers. A Railsback descendant reunion followed on July 8 at the American Legion Clubhouse with all 12 of Mrs Railsback's children present.
