Deer and quail outlook for 1965 hunting season in drizzle rich region
The game warden reports a rainy year boosting deer health and numbers for 1965 with fawns appearing and doves and quail abundant though quail may need weed seeds this winter. Quail feeders are encouraged. Lake Whitney yields above average fishing with large catfish records. Doe permits depend on a SeptemberOctober deer count, and landowners are warned not to promise permits to lease land. Remember life jacket safety on boats remains advised.
