Farmers can feed grain land with Hubam or Madrid clover to reduce erosion and improve moisture. Clovers enrich soil with nitrogen via root nodules and inoculation boosts nodulation. Research shows 40 to 100 pounds of nitrogen per acre added when a good clover crop is turned into soil. County ASCS can assist with cost sharing.
