Clifton High School hosts Midlothian High in a bi district girls basketball final at 7:30 PM Tuesday March 3 in Hillsboro High School gym. Coach Whitehurst accompanied by Richard Liardon and G E Jackson attended Midlothian Cedar Hill game where Midlothian prevailed. Clifton and Crawford girls split practice games while Clifton boys beat Itasca 59 41 in last scheduled season game.

Clifton High School Band will perform a 30 to 45 minute concert at 8 15 p m Thursday next week February 27 in Bettis Auditorium after the annual pancake supper staged by the Band Parents Association. New uniforms debut for the band with preconcert serving at 5 45 p m in the school cafeteria. Tickets for the supper include admission to the concert.

Funeral services for Mrs. John R. Cowen aged 77 were held at 3 PM Sunday at First Presbyterian Church Clifton conducted by Pastor George C. Herrscher. Born Flor McFadden in 1886 she married John Rentz Cowen in 1908 and had six children four sons Wilson Joe Hardy Lonnie and two daughters Mabel and Corinne. She and her husband operated grocery and produce businesses in Clifton and were active parishioners, returning to Clifton about 30 years ago to live in the family home built in 1908.
