Social Security Rep Set for Clifton Office Visit
Rob McLean of the Waco Social Security Office will be at Clifton City Hall dining room from 1:00 to 12:00 noon on Tuesday March 3 to discuss Social Security matters. The act provides monthly payments to dependents of disabled workers on disability benefits including unmarried children under 18 disabled children 18 or older wives caring for a child and spouses of retirement age.

Gunder Larson 77 dies at Clifton hospital
Gunder Larson of Cranfills Gap died in Clifton hospital on February 24 after a broken hip and heart condition. A son of Martin and Helene Larson born January 18 1887 in Hamilton County, he lived in the Boggy community and Cranfills Gap. He married Bettie Tergerson in 1912 and worked at Bronstad's Store First Security Bank and other businesses. He is survived by wife Bettie, a son Wendell, a daughter Amy, two grandchildren and a great granddaughter, plus brothers Magnus Harry and sister Mary. Funeral service was held February 25 at St Olaf Lutheran Church Cranfills Gap with interment at St Olaf Rock Church Cemetery.

Five Clifton Students Make All Regional Junior High Band
Clifton band instructor Glen Judah reports five students Harry Willmann Kenneth Holder Bill Godby Charlotte Turner and Kathy Collins earned first band status at the All Regional Junior High School Band Try-Outs held last Saturday at Lake Air Junior High School in Waco Twenty three Clifton band members competed The first band rehearsed 2 to 5 pm and formed the All Regional Band which performed at 7:30 pm that evening in the Lake Air auditorium Clifton High School stage band failed to place at the Brownwood Stage Band Festival in the prior week.

Clifton Junior High Girls Win Opener in Crawford Tourney
Clifton Junior High girls basketball, coached by Dayton Whitehurst, opened the annual Crawford Junior High Tournament with a 31 to 7 win Monday. The team, improving after a two and five season, had previously defeated Glen Rose and Turnersville and lost to Itasca Valley Mills Meridian.
