Grasses Manufacture Food From Own Leaves
Grass plants synthesize their food in the leaves using carbon from the air and minerals from the soil. Frequent grazing or mowing can reduce leaf area and limit growth, affecting soil conservation in pastures, ranges, and lawns.
Value of robust grass in soil and feed protection
A weak grass cover wastes soil moisture and nutrients and fails to maximize livestock feed or protect soil from wind or water erosion. The man who values grass ensures his food factory is large enough, with grass plants having adequate green leaves to survive and grow.
