Aubrey A Thomas Dies at 67 in Iredell County
Aubrey A. Thomas aged 67 of Route 1 Iredell died about 5:00 A M Saturday February 16 at Clifton hospital after pneumonia and a heart condition. Survived by wife Mrs Aubrey A Thomas and three sons Douglas Carter and John Archie all of Iredell. brother John A Thomas of Heber Springs AR. sisters Velma French of San Antonio and Daphne Houghlin of Little Rock AR. Funeral services February 17 at Cranfills Gap Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Eason and pallbearers Comer Tyler Olie Carlson Jesse Lee Weiles Roscoe Patterson Barney Millsap and B C Colwick. Interment Cranfills Gap Cemetery.

Young Mark Dansby born December 28 underwent surgery Tuesday at Providence Hospital in Waco. His parents Mr and Mrs Elmo Dansby and uncle Ralph Peterson of Houston helped escort him Monday afternoon. Mr Dansby has been ill in a local hospital for nearly three weeks.

Services were held at 10:00 AM at Breckenridge Presbyterian Church. Mrs Lee is the former Miss Kitty Cooks ey. Relatives from Dallas Fort Worth and Turnersville visited Mrs M S Hoel and others, with the Schulz family sharing in birthday celebrations last Friday.

Clifton Juniors Fall In First Round To Glen Rose
Clifton boys and girls junior teams lost their first round games to Glen Rose in a tight pair of contests. The girls fell 24 to 20 while the boys lost 28 to 22. Next Clifton games in the consolation bracket will be Saturday morning at 9:00 and 10:00, after Thursday first round action. Other girls winners include Valley Mills over Crawford 24 to 12 and Meridian over Turnersville 26 to 18. In the boys bracket Crawford beat Valley Mills 36 to 13 and Turnersville defeated Meridian 20 to 19. The full schedule runs Thursday from 2:45 PM with the final at 8:00 PM on Saturday competition continues.
