Three Texas 4-Hers Win National Honors in Chicago
National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago awarded college scholarships to three Texas delegates. John Cherry of Houston won in dog care and training withRalston Purina, Sylvia Parks of Morse earned in Westinghouse Electric's program, and Diane Dodd of Mobeetie won in Merck horse program. They were 1966 state award winners, judged by the Cooperative Extension Service. A total of 234 national awardees represented 47 states and Puerto Rico.

Medicare extends post hospital care for seniors on new program
Beginning January 1 1967 a service under Medicare offers people over 65 up to 100 days of skilled nursing care after a minimum three day hospital stay. The patient pays five dollars daily after the first twenty days. Extended care facilities may be separate or integrated but exclude custodial, mental health, and tuberculosis care.
