Rotating Pastures Boost Coastal Bermuda Harvest Quality
Studies by Renner Foundation and Texas A&M show the first 28 days of coastal bermuda growth yield the most nutritious forage. Rotating livestock between two pastures maintains fresh growth, while keeping a six inch top growth increases annual production. Fertilized plots at 600 lb per acre yielded 11 600 and 12 700 pounds dry weight per acre at different sites with irrigation and varying fertilizer costs.
