Mrs. W. F. Key Jr. chairs the Clifton Civic Improvement Society Christmas Decoration Contest with out-of-town judges set to visit during December 15 21. Prizes total 45 dollars in three divisions for most beautiful most original and most religious with first second place cash awards of 10 and 5 respectively. Residents across Clifton are urged to decorate homes to compete and beautify the area for the holidays.

Bosque County to Let Farm Market Highways Contracts
Bosque County Judge EW McGee announced that bids will be opened next Tuesday Dec 10 for FM 927 from Lakeside Village to FM 36, FM 3113 from State Highway 294 west of Whitney Dam to 1.3 miles northeast, and FM 1238 from south of Iredell to FM 219 north of Cranfills Gap. The projects complete the Iredell to Cranfills Gap route and will be supervised by the Texas Highway Department from Clifton.

Two Wrecks In Clifton Result In No Injuries
Clifton sees two traffic accidents over the long Thanksgiving weekend with no injuries. On Saturday at 3 pm a 1968 Buick driven by Henry T. Bass and a 1955 Chevrolet driven by Roy W. Necessary Jr. collided at State Highway 6 and 9th Street in rain, totaling the Chevrolet and causing about $900 damage to the Buick. On Tuesday at 3:55 pm Glenda Thiele's 1969 Chevrolet and Etta Lou Dahl's 1967 Ford collided in front of the Post Office causing about $30 damage to the Ford with no injuries.
