Ten members attended the Busy Bee Home Demonstration Club meeting November 12 at Mrs. Chris Brynie’s 702 S Ave K. President S T Selios led and the club thanked members for food sold at the Central Texas Fair. A 1965 vice president was elected and plans for Christmas events were announced including a December 8 party, a December 9 cookie program at Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home, and a December 16 covered dish supper at Henry Brynne’s home with gifts exchanged.

Deer season opens slow with hunts aided by cooler weather
Game Warden reports deer killings in Bosque County during opening weekend ran about 150, roughly half of last year. Antlers were smaller likely due to dry growth last spring. Quail season also opened, with fewer birds observed and a 12 per day limit, 36 in possession, and a three-shell capacity, plus hunting hours 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset.
