Bosque County farmers may vote December 15 on upland cotton marketing quotas and the domestic allotment program. Polling sites include Walnut Springs Gym, Morgan City Hall, Meridian Fire Station, Clifton City Hall, and Valley Mills City Hall. Open 8 am to 6 pm.

Bosque County Shorthorn Sale Nets Heavy Totals in Clifton
The fifth annual Bosque County Shorthorn Association sale in Clifton drew buyers from multiple towns. About 62 head produced between $15 000 and $16 000 with 23 bulls averaging 287 and 29 females averaging 2400. High prices included a cow and calf lot at 3800 and a top bull at 3650. Grand Champion Bull and Heifer were shown by TP Coburn, who earned card trays donated by Farmers State Bank and Evans Implements.

Will Forsons Injured in Grand Prairie Auto Accident
Mr and Mrs Will L Forson from the city were injured in a Friday afternoon automobile crash at Grand Prairie around 430. Mrs Forson broke her right hip pelvis and several ribs while Mr Forson suffered rib fractures cuts and bruises. They are under treatment in hospitals with Mrs Forson awaiting surgery to repair her hip and Mr Forson expected to be released soon.

Fire Department Reports Three Clifton Blazes This Week
Clifton Chief George M. Harris said the 1st Volunteer Fire Department responded to three recent fires, two on Saturday and one on Friday. The Elijah White residence suffered roof flames from a wood heater but Tin covering saved the house with damage mainly around the smokestack. A second fire at C. W. Patterson’s home on West Hackberry Street involved a skillet of grease igniting in the kitchen sink and burning curtains above the sink, extinguished with no major damage.

Clifton Cubs Fall in State Quarter Finals 28 14
Clifton High loses to Archer City 28 to 14 in the Class A state quarterfinals at Arlington State Stadium. The Wildcats built a 12 0 halftime lead, then Clifton rallied with two second half touchdowns led by James Haywood and Tommy Traylor. Gary Te squirmed for a 55 yard TD for Archer City sealing the win.
