One Week Until Central Texas Fair and Rodeo Clifton
One week remains before the Central Texas Fair and Rodeo opening. The Central Texas Fair Association met August 18 approving a point system to select We Sup survey and girl exhibitor for a $100 Chamber of Commerce prize. Entries were lagging and plans were set for postings at barns and home economics building. Mrs. Paul Barnett urged superintendents to meet August 28 at 9 a.m. to prepare for the fair and bring cleaning supplies.

Open House Planned as Goodall-Witcher Hospital Opens
After a year of construction the Goodall-Witcher Hospital in Clifton moves patients from the old facility at 1 30 p m Sunday to the new 64 bed hospital. An open house is set for September 10 with a dedication at 4 p m outside the building. Dr Truman Bloeker of UT Galveston will speak. Temporary visiting hours are listed and officials note permanent hours will be announced later. Ambulances from nearby towns assist the move. The Clifton Record will publish a special edition on September 7 ahead of the grand opening.

Clifton district enrolls 757 students in new year
