Texas Constitutional Amendment on Legislative Ineligibility
The proposed amendment deletes Section 18 and adds a rule that no Senator or Representative may hold a civil office of profit created or funded during their term, or be appointed to such offices by either legislative branch. It clarifies de minimis timing and states ineligibility ends the last full calendar year of the term. If a majority votes for the amendment, it becomes part of the Texas Constitution.
