Airman First Class Michael W. Parks of Meridian is stationed in Southeast Asia aboard a C 130 Hercules. The loadmaster supports 2 million candlepower flare missions that aid US forces in locating targets after sunset. He participates in three to four missions weekly as part of Pacific Air Forces.

Otto Schramm Rites Held After Death at 84
Funeral services were held for Otto Schramm, 84, at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at Clifton Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Albert Petrich of Our Savior's Lutheran Church conducted the service. Schramm died at 10 a.m. Monday, July 29, 1968 at Clifton Sunset Home after a stroke. He had been admitted to the local hospital on July 5.
