Immunization urged for Texas infants by state office

The Office of Early Childhood Development of the Texas Department of Community Affairs stresses infant immunization as crucial to curb dangerous diseases. Data show high rates of polio tetanus and diphtheria among under five, measles and whooping cough affecting mainly preschoolers, with low overall immunization. The Infant Immunization Surveillance Program mails three month old families inquiry cards about immunizations, followed by outreach if responses are lacking, and repeats at 14 months for measles and rubella. Bosque County has ample facilities to support early immunization, and parental cooperation is urged to reduce disease locally.
