Clifton Public Schools Announce Opening Schedule
Clifton Public Schools will open August 15 with a 7:30 a.m. faculty meeting at the Elementary School in Clifton, followed by in service workshops. Enrollment is expected to rise about 60 students with 45 in a new kindergarten program. Seven new teachers join the system as several staff retire or resign.

June Bond Sales Reported in Bosse County
County Bond Chairman William Bertelsen announced June sales of Series E and H United States Savings Bonds totaling 5,905 in Bosse County. First six months reached 65,095, 41 percent of the 1973 goal of 160,000. Texas monthly sales were 16,998,354 and year to date 119,984,282, reaching 95 percent of the 216.6 million yearly target.

Bosque County Tax Collections Show 96.5 Percent Earned
Bosque County tax assessor Behringer told the county commissioners that about 96.5 percent of 1972 taxes, totaling 156000 plus, had been collected as of June 20. Delinquents account for remaining sums on personal property and real estate, with ongoing daily collections since July 1. He praised the county’s high collection rate and noted steady performance. The commission approved the 1973 budget draft and a bid search for a motor grader. The miscellaneous earnings include $1.1 million in six months interest, forecasting a strong year.
