Clifton native and Hill Junior College freshman Clifton earns Mid Semester Honor Roll. Helen Dietiker of Clifton is among Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges selections at Hill Junior College. Dietiker, a Clifton High School 1969 graduate, majors in Business Administration, is Phi Theta Kappa and Student Congress representative.
Clifton residents recount a weekend visit by Mrs Della Ringness to Fort Worth and Denton. She stayed with Mr and Mrs Owen Ringness and their children Ronald Rhonda and Paula and with Mr and Mrs James Lee Tice and son Christopher. They attended Disney on Parade at the Tarrant Co Convention Center.
The Valley Mills Jaycees will meet next Tuesday at 7 30 in the School Band Hall to discuss reorganization with Bila Miller and some Waco Jaycees members helping.
The 1951 Clifton schools announce favorites for grammar and high school. Jerry Cash and Bernice Zettler head grammar awards while June Carter and Tom Parks top high school honors. spring events include regional UIL track and tennis meets at Dallas.
Local anglers faced disappointing results at the State Tourney on Lake Whitney with only two bass over five pounds and nine over four. Toledo Bend also saw light bass, while catfishing improved with Fort Worth men landing sixty catfish up to six and a quarter pounds and a DeSoto man a sixteen pound yellowcat.
Lake Whitney experienced heavy activity with the State Bass tournament and beauty pageants. A non-competing angler caught a 4.5 pound lunker. crappie, sandies, and large hauls were reported by several parties. Lake level sits at 519.10 feet, about four feet below normal.
Clint Fisher son of Mr and Mrs Charles Fisher of Mansfield and formerly Gatesville died at his home early Sunday. Funeral services were held at 2 pm April 19 at Moores Funeral Home Chapel. He is survived by his parents one brother David and grandparents and great grandparents from Gatesville Devine Gat esville and McGregor.
The church posts activities for the coming week including a Children's Choir at 3:00 p.m. on Friday April 30, Church School at 10 a.m. and Morning Worship at 11 a.m. on Sunday May 2, and Youth Choir at 7 p.m. on Wednesday May 5. The notice welcomes all to attend.
