John Sherman, longtime Farwell area resident living in Owosso since 1932, died September 26 1944 at the Flint home of his stepson Maynard Clark after a two week illness. He leaves Mary Clark Sherman wife two stepsons Maynard and Leonard Clark brothers Charles of Lake and Dade of Farwell a sister Mrs Jane Lewis of Farwell and many relatives. Funeral services will be held in Owosso at 10:00 AM Friday and at Thurston Funeral Home in Clare at 3:00 PM with burial in Surrey Township Cemetery Farwell.

Marion Hall driving a Farwell owned auto belonging to Mrs. Fred Snyder lost control at 1:30 am on West Fifth Street and struck the Holt porch area after missing the curve near the Ann Arbor crossing. The car suffered minor damage and was agreed to be repaired by Hall and Snyder’s party, who were released after officers investigated.
