Sponsored by the British and Foreign Bible Society, the project began four years ago. Lu, 58, an ordained minister of the Church of Christ in China, aims to finish in five to six years and hopes the work may replace the current standard Chinese Bible used in China, which emerged from Marshman and Morrison translations in 1919 after decades of effort.
