Two men arraigned for passing bad checks in Clare
Mahlon H. Reed, 44, Toledo, Ohio and Russell Jennings, 28, Winn, Michigan were arraigned before Justice W B Dunlop on charges of passing bad checks. Reed had earlier served 380 days for a Clare offense and a Traverse City arrest pending return. Both men, unemployed, are in county custody waiting for the September circuit court session.

Tractor overturns. man dies in Rosebush farm accident
Howard Shively aged 44 of Barkley was killed Labor Day when a tractor he drove on his brother Donald Shively’s farm in Rosebush tipped over while leveling ground for a basement. The vehicle rolled onto him, crushing his chest and causing instant death as he visited for the holiday weekend.

Jail Question To Be Voted Again In Fall
