Farwell Pastor Reenacts Gospel Rider Journey to Baltimore
The Rev. John R. Allan of Farwell Methodist Church is among twelve ministers chosen to ride horseback from Kalamazoo to Baltimore for the Methodists centennial celebration April 2 24 1966. He travels with peers from New York Pennsylvania North Carolina Delaware Missouri Virginia Indiana Nebraska Alabama and Louisiana. They will preach in churches along the route stay in Methodist parsonages and travel under Saddlebags East designation.

City Sued For 10000 In Clare County Court
The Clare Police Department officer David Glass and the City of Clare face a civil suit seeking 10000 dollars in compensatory damages and 10000 dollars in punitive damages for unlawful detention of Charles Shayler. The incident on October 17 reportedly involved a verbal warning dispute after a car stop in Clare. Chief Milan Shepard says no stop or ticket was issued and the city has yet to answer in Clare County Circuit Court.

Clare city leaders say Halloween will be celebrated on Saturday evening not Sunday.
