Pair Arrested On Charge Of Thefts Here
Patrick Quinney 19 of Lansing and Janet Gibbons 17 of Mecosta were arrested by State Police on a theft and resale scheme suspected of hooking multiple Clare retail stores. Quinney faced exam Friday before Saginaw Municipal Judge Hazen Armstrong and posted 2000 dollar bond. Gibbons pleaded guilty to simple larceny, fined 100 dollars and jailed 30 days. Police say the racket extended to Mt Pleasant Clare Midland Bay City Flint Lansing Grand Rapids and Saginaw.

The Clare Livestock Auction Yards held the annual fall Feeder Cattle Sale on Saturday October 16 starting at 12:30 with a full house of cattle buyers. Cattle receipts were large and the market remained strong with buyers from across the state and Indiana. Fancy Hereford Angus and crossbred steer calves sold from 26 to 30 dollars per cwt, heavier steers 21 to 26.50, Holstein steers 15.50 to 19.50, and heifers across classes at lower prices due to narrower demand.
