Mrs William Lewis Dies After Ill Health at 35
Elizabeth Katherine Bruckart Lewis died Monday afternoon at the Ingham County Sanitarium at 1 40 pm after years of illness. Born May 16 1916 in Vernon township Isabella County she lived in Clare since 1945 and married William Lewis October 22 1942. Survived by husband two children Patricia Ann and William Ralph her parents Mr and Mrs Elmer Bruckart five sisters and a brother. Funeral held at Clare Congregational Church with Rev Oscar W Olson officiating. Burial in Cherry Grove cemetery.

Clare County Selective Service Announces five to depart for induction
Mrs. Harvey Hartshorn, clerk of the Clare County Selective Service Board, said five Clare county youths will leave November 15 for final induction into the Armed Forces in Detroit the next day. Inductees include Clarence Koetjie Marion Elwood Worstell Clare Lloyd Battle R-2 Farwell Hubert Beavers R-3 Harrison and Wallace Barton Farwell. The October 30 quota for pre induction physicals at Detroit is 25, but enlistments and paternal duties reduce available men to about 20 this month, with the rest to be made up next month. Truck Overload Costs Man 382 Dollars in Clare Case
Archbold Keysor of R-2 Harrison received a summons for driving an overloaded truck on US-27 at M-115 in Clare while hauling a bulldozer on a small truck from Coleman to Harrison. Lud Segerlund of Harrison, owner of the truck, and Keysor pled guilty. Segerlund paid 368 dollars in road damages plus a 14 dollar fine.

City Commission Plans Sewage Plant Construction
The City Commission moves toward bidding and contract letting for a sewage disposal plant. Mayor Haley notes construction start can be flexible, with a June 1 1952 completion target set by the Michigan Water Resources Commission if work begins next spring. Home Nursing Class Begins at Clare High School
Registration for Home Nursing classes held in the Home EC room at Clare High School drew a full class of 16 last Monday evening.
