Dull Barn Fire Destroys Farm Structure in Sheridan Township
A large barn on Arthur Dull's W. Co. Henry farm burned Sunday about 10:00 AM in Sheridan township. Fire destroyed hay, crates, tools, and equipment. Dull suffered facial and arm burns earlier while handling a coal burner. The fire also damaged nearby properties but homes were saved.

John Eli Coulter 58 died in his sleep from a heart ailment Sunday morning at Clare Michigan. A former farmer and restaurant operator, he lived in Clare and worked at Kraft Uneese plant until his death. He leaves widow Edna two daughters Lucille Elgar and Ethyl Walton two brothers Clair and Lee and a sister Belle Deller. Funeral services were held at Thurston Funeral Home with Rev B E Redman officiating and burial at Cherry Grove cemetery.

Robert W. Ryan Retires as Clare Pere Marquette Agent
Robert W. Ryan retires after forty nine years with the Pere Marquette Railway in Clare as agent. His career began August 29 1896 as a telegrapher in White Cloud Michigan and included roles as telegraph operator brakeman conductor yardmaster with Pere Marquette and affiliates. He served briefly with Illinois Central at New Orleans Lay and Rock Island at Trenton Missouri before becoming Clare agent on September 16 1927. He praised his coworkers calling them a fine bunch.

Almeda Ellen Reed Baker died suddenly at her Lake George Michigan home on Oct 20 1945 at age 75. She was born Aug 26 1870 in Lindsey Ohio married Sept 4 1890 to Francis Marion Baker and had five children. The family lived in Bowling Green Clare and Windover Lake before retiring to Lake George in 1933. She was active in Christ Church Lansing and the Rebekah Lodge. Burial planned after funeral at Lake George Baptist Church.
