The Clare Isabella District Association of Odd Fellows and Rebekah Lodges of fourteen lodges in seven communities held a meeting at Brinton. Officers for 1987 were elected with Alexander H. Wylie as President and Asher D. Knight chosen as Secretary amid a program of readings, vocal numbers, and dances. The next meeting may be held in Winn.

Local man claims to have been waylaid and beaten

Arthur Resident Mary A Balsley Dies After Long Illness
Mrs. Mary A. Balsley, longtime Arthur township resident, died Thursday morning at Flint at age 75. She lived with her daughter Ina Hillthorpe in Flint for three months seeking care. Survived by husband, two daughters Grace Myers of Columbus and Ina Hillthorpe of Flint, three sons Win H Ray Baisley Detroit and Jesse A Baisley, 18 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, three sisters, three brothers, and many friends.
