Olive Sophia Jackson Harpster widow of John A. Harpster died at 1 PM Sunday in Grant township at age 88 after years of ill health. Born July 25 1855 in Steuben County Indiana she was married March 14 1878 and had five children all but Ford died in infancy. James B. Allen longtime Clare County pioneer resident, dies at 7:00 p m Sunday at his Grant township home after a years long heart condition and a September stroke followed by pneumonia. Born April 28 1869 in Madre Ontario, he came to Michigan in 1881 and lived on a Dover area farm. He married Emma Hutchinson in 1893, had four children, and after her death in 1927 wed Blanche Smith. Funeral was at Eagle Church with Rev Hene Derich and Rev Kleinhardt officiating. interment Cherry Grove Cemetery beside his first wife.
