Tornado Viciously Strikes Near Clare Causing Major Damage
A tornado touched down southeast of Clare last Thursday causing an estimated 10 000 dollars or more in damage. Buildings were leveled and power lines downed while trees blocked highways. No injuries or livestock harm reported as witnesses described funnel shapes beneath dark clouds. The storm damaged farm buildings including a large barn at the Ralph Purvis farm and disrupted oil storage at Qua dro Oil Co. in Wise township.

Pioneers Narrow Loss in Home Opener at Central Montcalm
