Sheridan man dies by own hand in Clare area
Samuel Smith a fifty five year old bachelor living seven miles northeast of Clare was found dead at his home after an apparent self inflected shotgun blast. Neighbors and Dr. F C Sanford examined the scene and an inquest is planned. Smith had recently sold his farm and advertised an auction for Thursday. He was described as a quiet accommodating citizen with no known enemies or financial troubles.
