Remains of James Allen Brought Here Sunday
James Milton Allen born January 28 1853 in Perry County Ohio united in marriage to Emma D McKinley in 1879 and had three sons and three daughters. He moved to Clare County in 1883 and lived in the area until the last months. He died October 17 1929 at his daughter Birdie Smith’s home in Lansing aged 76 years eight months and twenty five days. Survivors include eight of eleven siblings fourteen grandchildren six great grandchildren four brothers and four sisters. Prayer services were held at the Lansing home and funeral at Arthur town hall with Rev William S Teeter officiating. interment in Arthur cemetery.

Twenty two county supervisors gathered at the county infirmary last week Thursday for a sumptuous chicken dinner hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Henderson. Former Loomis Man George Henry Lewis Dies in Chicago
George Henry Lewis born October 9 1889 at Park Lake Midh died October 21 1929 in Chicago from acute appendicitis aged 40 years and 12 days. He grew up in Loomis and married Eftie Swarthout November 17 1926. two children George Jr and Mary Elizabeth survive with his widow. He worked 23 years in railroad train service and served in World War I with the 108th Engineers Company I 38th Division.

Joseph Yoeman Extends Visit in Eastern Ontario
92 year old Joseph Yoeman left Monday for a visit to his birth place twenty two miles north of Kingston Ontario. He has traveled to Detroit and Chicago this fall and recalls visiting a mail order store there where a manager offered half price on his old purchase. Yeoman proudly shows a watch bought at half price and recalls arriving in Clare years ago and seeing the first Pere Marquette train at the depot.

Roy Wilson is confined with injuries after his car crashed into the rear of a parked vehicle without lights on the pavement near the corner of Avenue and McEwan streets. Dr. FLW McKnight, riding with Wilson, was only slightly injured. Wilson's car was badly wrecked.

PF A Fowler of Saginaw has transformed Clare county cut over pine land into a 120 acre apple orchard with 6000 trees and 34 varieties. This year’s bumper yield of 6000 bushels, mainly North and Spies and Jonathans, is packed and mostly sold in Saginaw. Earl Cradit has managed the operation for eleven years and the hilltop estate offers views of a small lake and the Tobacco River’s North Branch.
